The “Panning for Gold” Fang Lijun Art Exhibition opened at Jinji Lake Art Museum, SIP on Mar 29, and will last till Sept 6. Co-curated by Du Xiyun and Liu Muwei, the exhibition traces the over-40-year creative journey of Fang Lijun, a leading figure in contemporary art in China.

The exhibition features a diverse range of art works, including oil paintings, traditional Chinese ink paintings, ceramics, prints, and installations.

The “Ocean Waste” series created since 2025 are particularly impressive. Living by the coast in Qinhuangdao, North China’s Hebei province, Fang collects industrial waste from beaches and transforms them into thought-provoking artworks that blend aesthetics with the concern for environmental issues.
