Recently, a new synthetic peptide vaccine for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in swine, co-developed by SIP-based TECON Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (also known as TK Pharm), was rated a Class-3 veterinary drug by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.
The company is dedicated to developing animal disease prevention solutions. Its Suzhou base, with a total investment of RMB1 billion, is its core vaccine production base.
The newly approved vaccine targets prevalent FMD strains in Chinese pig herds. Featuring a fully chemically synthesized peptide antigen, it can help significantly improve FMD prevention when used in combination with dedicated diagnostic reagents.
