A public foreign-language signage improvement initiative was launched in SIP recently. Organized by the Suzhou Industrial Park One-stop Service Centre for Expats under the support of SIP Foreign Affairs Office, it is expected to promote an all-around optimization of SIP’s foreign-language services.
The initiative has brought together multiple groups of participants. A number of student volunteers from Soochow University have systematically inspected signage systems at roads, scenic spots, and business areas, and a team of experts from the university conducted on-site evaluations and provided authoritative guidance on linguistic standards and international conventions.

Concurrently, the “Snap for Translation Improvement” campaign is underway, encouraging locals and expats to help discover wrong or improper translations in public spaces and report via an official mini-program for improvement.
