Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in SIP unveiled its new strategic vision on Mar 31, announcing to transform its integration ecosystem from an “industrial ecosystem” to a “social ecosystem”.

Xi Youmin, executive president of the university, said the transformation marks that XJTLU is going beyond serving industrial development to partake in shaping the future society by connecting education with research and social needs.

Specific measures include establishing a future education service center, promoting the development of centers of excellence, teaming up with leading enterprises in running R&D institutions in the school, and setting up a digital literacy and AI laboratory, an innovation and entrepreneurship incubation center, a cultural and artistic museum and an international exchange space.

The Life Science Building was put into use on the same day as a major facility for the school to conduct cutting-edge research, cross-disciplinary cooperation and integrated innovation.

The Ruijin Hospital Clinical Research Centre (Suzhou) was inaugurated, and the “In Sync With The Future—A Strategic Exhibition on XJTLU’s Integrated Ecosystem for Industry-Academia-Research-Government-Society Collaboration” exhibition was underway at the same time.

Moreover, a ceremony was held to express appreciation to donators who had contributed to the development of the school’s foundation that serves as an important platform for connecting university with social resources.
